Topic: Minutes

The meeing was opened byadvisor, Carrie Schoonmaker.  We discussed upcoming events, primarily for the next academic year.  Included were NY Regional Convention in Rochester, NY, Mock Chapter at Wells College, International Convention in Texas, and Honors Institute at Kingsborough CC in Brooklyn.

A tentative schedule of events will be available at future meetings and online.

The new Honors Topic for Phi Theta Kappa is "Paradox of Affluence: Choices, Challenges, and Consequences," and the Service Program remains "Operation Green."

We discussed the Hallmarks: service, leadership, fellowship and scholarship.  We also went over what can be done to achieve thesee hallmarks, as well as to record them.

Carrie will provide a list of the current members of PTK so that members can remain informed.  We, as members of PTK, are trying to boost attendance at meetings, so if it is possible to attend meetings, feel free to stop by G111 at 2:30 every thursday, or ask an officer about it.

Also, Frank is stepping down as advisor next semester, therefore Carrie will be the sole advisor.

We discussed the importance of funsraising in PTK, and what the funds are used for.

In attendance: Marjore Gabriel, Cod5y Siciliano, Thomas Olton, Carrie Schoonmaker, and Richard Postell.
